The Dhoot-promoted Videocon Group has decided to shelve its Rs 4,000-crore naphtha cracker unit in Karnataka.

The group, which had signed a letter of intent with the Karnataka government in 1996, is planning to seek a further extension of the letter of intent, which was valid up to March 31 this year.
