Genesis" "" the management festival of FORE School of Management, New Delhi, is slated for November 28 and 29.

 
The festival boasts of competitions like "Rural media pitch" which will be judged by Rajat Ray, vice-president, Thompson Rural and Social; a finance case study "The money returns", judged by Kavi Kumar, president, Brokerage of India Bulls; Manthan@FORE, a test of the innovative quotient of the participants, judged by Sudarshan Banerjee, CEO, Dalmiya Consumer Care Ltd; and "Floor pe Shor", a virtual BSE set up to stimulate Dalal Street smartness and trading skills.

 
IIM-L: discussing management in a changing environment

 
This year, "Innovision" , organised by the students of Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow, is being sponsored by Tata Sons Ltd.

 
Celebrating its 10th year, Innovision will have CEOs, academia, policy makers and students from the top B-schools discuss issues facing the industry today.

 
This year, Rajiv Gulati, CMD, Eli Lilly; Chandan Mitra, member of Rajya Sabha and editor of The Pioneer; Swapan Dasgupta, deputy editor of India Today; and Rajiv Goswami, vice-president, Ranbaxy will visit IIM-L during Innovision.

 
This year's theme is "India Inc: expanding horizons, managing expectations".

 
FMS on a winning spree

 
Faculty of Management Studies (FMS), Delhi, bagged the FICCI - GECL Business Start-up Plan Contest by winning both the first and the second places.

 
The team comprising Kamal Dev Shukla and Vishal Dixit came up with the best business plan and won the first prize of Rs1 lakh. The second team of Atul Pokhriyal and Sudershan Sengupta bagged the second prize and won Rs 60,000.

 
Continuing with the winning streak, FMS was adjudged runners-up in the Business Today - Standard Chartered Acumen 2003, national debate contest.

 
The event was held at the FICCI auditorium on November 17 and saw industry leaders and personalities like Rajiv Pratap Rudy, minister of state for civil aviation, IIM-A alumnus Harsha Bhogle and Rajeev Karwal, MD, Electrolux among others.

 
The FMS team of Siddharth Kshatriya and Abilin Mukherjee won a laptop each, sponsored by HP.

 
The intense debating had teams pitting their skills on topics like the role of business institutions in the public sphere of life, and whether marketing research is a waste of financial resources.The other semi-finalists were IIM-B, IIM-I and IIM-K.

 
NMIMS' seminar on India Inc. of the future

 
The students of Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Mumbai, are organising a two-day seminar, "Paragana 2003", on November 28 and 29.

 
The seminar, sponsored mainly by Tata Sons, associate sponsors being LG, Wockhardt and Toyota, is based on the theme of "India Inc "" the road ahead".

 
Touching upon the challenges and opportunities that face Indian industry today, the seminar will also talk on the solutions that it could employ on its way to becoming the economic superpower.

 
Dr J J Irani, director, Tata Sons, will be the key note speaker and Subir Raha, chairman, ONGC, will be the guest of honour. Main events include an all-India level B-school paper presentation on the theme of the seminar, and the annual NMIMS alumni meet after the conclusion of Paragana on November 28.

 
Industry professionals from the spheres of marketing, finance, HRD and technology will speak at the seminar.

 
The list includes Utpal Sengupta, president, Agrotech Foods; Naval Bir Kumar, CEO, Stan Chart Mutual Fund; Manjit Singh Lakhmana, vice-president, HR, Bank of America; Mahesh Murthy, CEO, Passionfund Kewal Handa, CEO, Pfizer. Also, addressing "The Big Picture" will be speakers like Arvind Mahajan, partner, IBM Business Consulting Services.
