General Insurance Corporation (GIC) and Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) have launched a mega marketing blitz in ten centres to propagate insurance awareness as part of the golden jubilee celebrations of the country's independence. The centres chosen are Hazaribagh, Tuti-corin, Lucknow, Jaipur, Calcutta, Sambalpur, Trivandrum, Hyder-abad, Baroda and Pune.
The first function was launched by United India Insurance Co in Trivandrum. The first combined function of GIC and LIC is being launched at Hazaribagh on August 8-10, where it is proposed to put up an exhibition depicting the freedom struggle as well as LIC's contribution to free India.
LIC proposes to launch social security insurance schemes to cover the weaker sections of the society. They are also in the process of introducing front-end operations at various branches in Bihar. Similarly, GIC too plans to organise an exhibition with its subsidiary companies. The Loss Prevention Association of India will also be participating in the exhibition to illustrate the variety of low-cost insurance protection made available to the industry.
