Gilts' Tags Increase By 15-20 Paise

The wholesale debt market segment at the National Stock Exchange witnessed active trading volumes amounting to Rs 469.97 crore resulting from 78 transactions. The prices of the securities rose by nearly 15 to 20 paise as a fall out of the cut in the repo rate from six per cent to five per cent. The treasury bill segment saw volume of Rs 40 crore.

The zero per cent government loan maturing on 2000 (third instalment) was traded for Rs 70 crore at the weighted average yield of 10.96 per cent. The certificate of deposit of State Bank of India maturing on July 1, saw a trade worth Rs 5 crore, at the yield of 8.5 per cent and priced at Rs 99.62.

 

The 12.69 per cent government loan maturing on maturing on 2002 was traded for Rs 20 crore at the weighted average yield of 11.44 per cent. It was traded for a low of Rs 103.70 and closed at the high of Rs 103.85.

The 13.65 per cent government loan maturing on 1998 was traded for Rs 38 crore at the weighted average yield 8.32 per cent. The 13.70 per cent government loan maturing on 1999 was traded Rs 20 crore at the weighted average yield of 9.95 per cent. It was traded for a low of Rs 103.30 and touched at high of Rs 103.45.
