A steady-to-easy trend was noticed in groundnut oil whereas other industrial oils ruled easy-to-subdued at the who-lesale oils and oilseeds market, Turbhe, Navi Mumbai yesterday.
Imported palmolein also ruled easy on dull demand. In future section, castorseeds June'97 contract opened lower and eased further towards closing. September contract remained untraded.
Groundnut oil ruled overall steady at Rs 355 per 10 kg on subdued demand coupled with modest arrivals. Arrivals were put at around 100 tonnes a day.

In other oils, copra oil white and sunflower oil expeller declined by Rs 10 and Rs 3 to Rs 550 and Rs 275 per 10 kg respectively on dull industrial offtake Cottonseed oil washed and refined qualities eased by Rs 5 and Rs 4 to Rs 285 and Rs 290 per 10 kg respectively on dull industrial demand Imported palmolein eased by Re 1 at Rs 281 per 10 kg on subdued demand.
In futures, castorseeds June'97 contract opened 50 paise lower at Rs 1089 and remained at the same level. It declined and closed at Rs 1088 a quintal.
Sugar: An easy-to-subdued trend was witnessed at the wholesale sugar market at Turbhe, Navi Mumbai yesterday. Sugar of both the grades showed an easy trend. Sugar S-30 grade eased to Rs 1390/1440 as against the previous level of Rs 1420/1450 a quintal on reduced demand However, sugar M-30 grade weakened to Rs 1450/1480 from the previous level of 1460/1495 a quintal on reduced offtake. Meanwhile, sugar for the check post deliveries were quoted easy at Rs 1385/1405 a quintal for S-30 grade and 1430/1451 for the M-30 grade.
Non-ferrous Metals: A steady trend was noticed in the local non-ferrous market yesterday. Industrial demand remained dull as against moderate arrivals.
In the virgin section, all the metals ruled overall steady and were nominally quoted as under: copper wirebars Rs 136, aluminium ingots Rs 75.75, zinc slabs Rs 79.50, lead ingots Rs 41.50, tin slabs Rs 312 and nickel cathodes Rs 368 a kg respectively
In scraps section, quiet conditions were noticed and prices were nominally quoted as under: copper heavy scraps Rs 122.50, copper utensils Rs 110.50 brass utensils Rs 93.75, brass sheetcuttings Rs 98.25 and aluminium utensils Rs 59.25 a kg respectively Bullion: An easy-to-downward trend was witnessed in the local bullion market yesterday.
In white metals, silver .999 ruled overall steady at the previous level of Rs 6870 a kg. on narrow movements while raw silver i.e. .916 firmed up slightly by Rs 5 at Rs 6770 a kg on better industrial demand coupled with modest arrivals. Delhi advices also indicated weak trend.
In yellow metals, standard gold and 22-carat gold eased by Rs 10 each to Rs 4780 and Rs 4420 per 10 grams, respectively on redu-ced demand with better arrivals.
Gold biscuits prices also eased by Rs 100 at Rs 55,900 per piece. of 10 toals on reduced demand.
