HealthifyMe raises second round funding

Angel investors include Gopal Srinivasan, Sashi Reddi, Amit Gupta and others

Mobile application-based weight loss solution provider HealthifyMe has raised second round of funding from angel investors.

The latest round of funding was led by angel investors comprising of Gopal Srinivasan (TVS Capital), Sashi Reddi (AppLabs), Amit Gupta (InMobi), Pallav Nadhani (FusionCharts) and Roopa Nath among others.

HealthifyMe would now establish its global headquarters in Singapore, thus signalling its first step towards establishing a global footprint, the company said in a statement.

The proceeds would help the company in clocking higher growth; realise its plan to hire more than 1,000 nutritionists and fitness trainers.

HealthifyMe plans to introduce several low-cost offerings, including an app-based real time providing access to nutritionists/trainers/yoga instructors, helping users avail online assistance on diet management and essential workout as part of fitness and weight loss measures.
 

Tushar Vashist, CEO and co-founder of HealthifyMe, said, "With this funding, we are going to democratise healthy living by providing fitness and weight loss at a fraction of the market value, while simultaneously providing employment to hundreds of nutritionists and trainers".

Tailor-made for Indian needs, HealthifyMe provides access to the domestic food database, a calorie counter for regional foods and a thorough exercise tracker for logging in physical activities.

It has partnered with healthcare providers such as Medanta, Apollo and Manipal, to employ its app-based services in treating and preventing clinical obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular problems and other lifestyle diseases.
