Honda Sees Growth In Asean Car Sales

Motorcycle sales rose 12 per cent last year to 1.6 million units, the company said. In Indonesia, car sales grew 31 per cent to 6,400 units, mainly due to the launch of a new Civic model. Sales of motorcycles there hit a record of 654,300 units last year, up 37 per cent from 1995.

Honda said its car sales in Thailand rose 44 per cent last year from 1995 to 42,400 units. It sold 640,500 motorcycles there last year, up one per cent from 1995. Asean groups Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Brunei and Vietnam.
