ICICI Bank also saw a 78 per cent jump in deposits, which rose to Rs 1094.16 crore for the period ended September 1996, as compared with Rs 614.05 crore for the same period last year.
The advances of the bank went up by 57 per cent to Rs 689.67 crore, as compared to Rs 614.05 crore posted during the same period last year.
The interest income for the bank went by a whopping 119 per cent, while the interest paid by the company fell to Rs 62 crore from Rs 88.59 crore posted during the corresponding period last year.
The capital adequacy ratio of the bank declined to 16.86 per cent from 24.25 per cent during the first six month of the current financial year.
The net worth of the bank rose by a modest Rs 21.16 crore, while the total assets increased by Rs 519.10 crore, compared with last year.
The bank will soon hit the capital market with a public issue. Sources in the bank said that the talks with the RBI were at an advanced stage. We will be coming out with our public equity issue soon, sources in the bank said.
