The Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (IIM-L), in association with the Tennessee State University and the South Carolina State University, is holding an international conference on "Agribusiness and Food Industry in Developing Countries: Opportunities and Challenges" from August 10-12, 2007, at its campus.

The conference is being organised as part of a project funded by the United States Department of Agriculture under International Science Education programme.

The seminar will debate and discuss the emerging opportunities as well as the challenges for the agribusiness and food sectors in the post-liberalised era of global economic order.

"A major challenge for India in the changing national and global agribusiness environment is the introduction of relevant and appropriate policy reforms," said Prof Sushil Kumar, conference coordinator.

Nearly 300 delegates are likely to attend the convention.
