Equities across major bourses continued to drift aimlessly even as the Kargil issue is yet to be resolved. Reflecting the general trend, the BSE Sensex ended the day at 4,140.73, a loss of 30.10 points over the previous close. The S&P CNX Nifty shed 3.60 points to end the day at 1,187.70. The general consensus among players is that the lacklustre trend will continue till a solution is worked out to end the border skirmishes. Players are of the view that only a positive development can trigger off fresh buying interest.
