Go with the flow: Zorian Cross Productions and Art in Motion present Flow -- a form of theatre that combines the art of dance with storytelling. The performance will comprise six stories told through ballet, lyrical, contemporary, modern, jazz and Latin ballroom.

Make in India: Kunzum is hosting an introduction to filmmaking workshop which will provide the basic understanding of how a good story is made for the screen -- covering every little detail from pre-production, to shooting, to post-production phase over a period of two days.

Stand up For Kashmir: Three popular comedians Radhika Vaz, Amit Tandon, and Vikramjit Singh will be performing this weekend in Gurgaon. The proceeds from the event will go towards relief work in flood-stricken Kashmir.

Art of jazz: The India International Centre is hosting a workshop on jazz by Deborah J Carter, a jazz vocalist from The Netherlands. The workshop includes a presentation on the major movements and evolution in this style of music over the years. Deborah is known for her seamless transitions from contemporary jazz to Latin jazz to blues and traditional.

The world through the lens: Instituto Cervantes is organising a talk based on the works of Alfredo De Stefano titled 'Storm of Light - All The Deserts Are My Desert'. It is a photographic documentary project that Stefano has been working since 2008. The main objective of the talk is to understand the creative process followed by the artist as well as the obstacles and difficulties encountered to reach the furthest regions of the world. Alfredo de Stefano has over 20 years of experience in conceptual contemporary photography.

Musical Oktoberfest: Oktoberfest 2014, a music event, will include performances by DJs and live acts from across the country and abroad. The fourth edition of the three-day festival will feature Firebeatz, Gregori Klosman, Matisse & SadkoMarco V, Tristan Garner, John 00 Fleming and Arstonas. Apart from the music, attendees can visit a flea market and sample a selection of beers from around the world. There will also be after parties every night at Mambos.

The Big Band theory: Jazz Addicts will bring The Igor Butman Big Band to India for the first time. The group is considered among the best in the business, boasting of saxophone, trumpet and trombone sections. The 18-member band also has two vocalists and an acoustic rhythm section. Attendees can expect to hear songs of Duke Ellington, Basie and Benny Goodman as well as originals from the Big Band repertoire.

Bolshoi ballet: Watch the Bolshoi Ballet performing The Pharaoh’s Daughter, a 19th century oriental fantasy. On a stormy day, Lord Wilson is forced to take shelter in a pyramid, where the daughter of one of Egypt’s most powerful pharaohs lies entombed. The recital includes an exotic setting, impressive parades, spectacular variations and crowd scenes. The music is arranged by Cesare Pugni, while Pierre Lacotte is the choreographer as well as set and costume designer. The cast includes Svetlana Zakharova, Ruslan Skvortsov and Nina Kaptsova

Literature festival
Literary celebration: As part of the Tata Lit Live festival, award winning Welsh poets Eurig Salisbury and Rhian Edwards and their Indian counterparts Sampurna Chattarji and Ranjit Hoskote will read poems and discuss the way a city and its rhythms reflect in verse. Sounds from India and Wales will combine in a unique collaboration of Indian Ghazal and Welsh folk traditions in the 6-piece Ghazalaw, formed after a meeting between Tauseef Akhtar and Gwyneth Glyn. The two countries may seem disconnected but the Welsh folk and Indian Ghazal traditions are said to have evolved from ancient poetic forms that share affinities. These poetic forms speak of loss and romantic love, invoking melancholy, love, longing, and mysticism.

Cultural festival
Austrian culture fest: As part of the Austrian Cultural Festival, the Chamber Youth Orchestra Salzburg will present an evening of fine music. The group consists of students selected from the Symphonic Music High School Orchestra, which has been a significant part of cultural life in Salzburg for 45 years. They will perform a concert in Ahmedabad too. The Viennese Waltz, which emerged in the second half of the 18th century in Austria, will also be brought to Mumbai. The dance form has been popular in Austria and Europe for more than 200 years. Additionally, the festival will allow participants to try culinary specialties from the region.

Semi-figurative art: A showcase of sculptures, sketches and paintings by Sushanta Kumar Das named Images Expressing Movements will be displayed at Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath. The artist is known to use semi-figurative forms on white surface that are sensitive and thought-provoking.

Average or not: The Mankad family comprises father Manu, son Ajay and daughter-in-law Alka. Ajay is a lawyer and Alka is a Math professor. They live an average life with its share of domestic squabbles but nothing seems out of the ordinary. However, there is likely a mystery waiting behind this facade of a regular family. Paresh Rawal appears in a double role: one as an ailing father who is neglected by his son and daughter-in-law, and the other as a police inspector, who tries to introduce some sense into the young couple, in respecting their father.

Of mothers and daughters: 30 days in September is Mahesh Dattani's gripping account of a complex mother-daughter relationship. The story is about love and betrayal which explores the severance of the unbreakable bond between an adult and child. A mother discovers the truth about her daughter, which sends them both on a journey of discovering themselves and their linked past. The play has completed over 200 shows around the globe to cities including Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Colombo, Dubai, Houston and Washington D.C
