According to a press release issued here, the two will co-develop and test selected applications that automate data exchange between telecommunications carriers.
The products will enable competitive local exchange carriers (CLECs) to conduct electronic service ordering with incumbent local exchange carriers (ILECs) and other trading partners.
Infosys will, under the agreement, provide Quintessent with an offshore lab and its global delivery model, creating a 24-hour workday.
Infosys will also deploy its time-boxing model, a methodology for delivering rapid functionality in the timeframes Quintessent specifies.
The relationship will help accelerate the addition of new applications and capabilities within the Tele.Commerce carrier interconnection suite.
"We are pleased to be part of the team building e-commerce applications that are critical to being successful with the competitive carrier landscape" said Hari Murthy, associate vice-president and head of business development, communications & product services practice for Infosys.
Infosys has also tied up with another US-based firm, Jetstream Communications Inc, to co-develop broadband solutions.
"Infosys will provide Jetstream with an offshore lab to co-develop and test Jetstream's (broadband) solutions for small businesses and the residential market," the company said in a statement.
The statements did not give financial details of either partnership.
Both Quintessent and Jetstream are privately-held and funded by venture capital firms.
