Injured England batsman Kevin Pietersen today surprised one and all by dropping in at the Feroze Shah Kotla ground here ahead of Delhi Daredevils' second Indian Premier League match against Rajasthan Royals tomorrow.

Pietersen, who has been ruled out of the current IPL season due to a knee injury, has reportedly come for some official work with the Daredevils' management.

At around 4.45pm, he arrived at the training area in Daredevils' practice uniform but his right leg was heavily strapped with a black coloured buckled knee brace and seemed to walk with a lot of discomfort.

Rajasthan Royals captain Rahul Dravid, who had just arrived for the customary pre-match media conference, walked up towards Pietersen to check about his injury and wished the Englishman speedy recovery before exchanging pleasantries for a few minutes.

Pietersen looked in a jovial mood as he spoke to his fellow Daredevils' teammates and enjoyed the team huddle. He was also seen discussing a few things with Daredevils' cricket manager Ashish Kapoor and the members of the support staff.
