Celebrating a century of cinema: House of Symphony is set to pay a grand musical tribute through its concert titled “100 YEARS OF INDIAN CINEMA”. The concert will walk down the memory lane and visit the golden age of Indian Cinema, since its inception in 1913, and gradually make its way through the most popular commercial songs till date. It’ll be a musical tribute to Indian cinema and all its iconic actors, directors, music directors, films and songs, along with a visual treat as well.

DJ set at Barsoom: Dualist Inquiry is the solo electronic dance project of Sahej Bakshi, a producer, guitarist and composer from New Delhi, formed in 2010. Bakshi, as Dualist Inquiry, is a seasoned performer of the music festival and club circuit inIndia and has performed at festivals such as Bacardi NH7 Weekender, Sunburn, Invasion Festival, Sulafest, BASS Camp Festival and India Bike Week. Bakshi will be belting out some of the sounds that have been inspiring his new tunes and grabbing his attention lately this Saturday at Barsoom.

A peek into the mind of the artist: Vadehra Art Gallery will be presenting Anju Dodiya’s latest solo show "Imagined Immortals" at Vadehra Art Gallery, New Delhi. Considered one of the most important contemporary artists in India, Dodiya’s much anticipated exhibition will be her first solo show in Delhi since Necklace of Echoes at Vadehra Art Gallery in 2010. The works in Imagined Immortals are part of a new body of work executed over the course of the past year and are to be exhibited to the public for the first time. The show is also a collateral event for the upcoming India Art Fair.?

Bolshoi ballet: As part of a partnership between NCPA and Pathé Live (Paris), watch a screening of Bolshoi Ballet: La Bayadère. When dancer Nikiya and warrior Solor meet secretly, the High Brahmin, who is also smitten with Nikiya, overhears them. He rushes to reveal their secret to the Raja, who has decided that Solor will marry his beloved daughter Gamzatti. The music is by Ludwig Minkus, while Yuri Grigorovich choreographs the production. It stars Svetlana Zakharova, Maria Alexandrova and Vladislav Lantratov.

Reading and Music: Literature Live! Evenings will host a talk by SOI's associate music director Zane Dalal on the connections between literature and music. Dalal, who holds masters degrees in music from the University of Oxford and from Indiana University at Bloomington, is involved in various aspects of the Symphony of India including conducting and rehearsing with musicians.

The Nature of Art: Art Forms in Nature is a solo show featuring the historical works of German professor and photographer Karl Blossfeldt. The exhibition is presented by TARQ art gallery in collaboration with Bangalore-based Tasveer. Blossfeldt, who is self-taught, is known for unique photographic plant portraits which signify his belief that everything created by man has its origins in nature. These photographs showcase the qualities, forms and typical aspects of flora which, when magnified, resemble built structures and the patterned surfaces of modernist designs. His fusion of scientific research, sculptural form and abstract compositions led a new artistic style in modern art and photography.

French film feast: As part of MyFrenchFilmFestival.com, screenings will be held in multiple cities including Mumbai. The online festival aims to promote the young generation of French filmmakers and allow cinema enthusiasts globally to access their films on the internet. Watch short works including Aïssa by Clément Tréhin-Lalanne, about an illegal Congolese immigrant in France who must prove to authorities that she is under eighteen years. Le retour by Yohann Kouam is about 15-year-old Willy who is waiting impatiently for his runaway brother to return. Also to be screened are, La virée a Paname by Carine May and Hakim Zouhani and Shadow by Lorenzo Recio.

The body as a site of power and subjugation: “Fragile theatres of catastrophe,” is how artist Zakkir Hussain describes his latest body of works, “Prolonged Hours of Disguised Situations”, a solo exhibition of mixed media drawings and paintings. These works are an extension of the work first presented at the Koch-Muziris Biennale 2012. It draws on the idea of exile, the body as a site of power and subjugation and the growing disconnect between humanity and nature.

Comedy of errors: A mild-mannered CA, Henry Perkins, picks up the wrong briefcase and finds it full of money. He books one-way tickets to Barcelona but before and his wife can leave a detective arrives, accusing him of soliciting. And then another arrives, thinking he is dead, as a man with bullet holes in his head and Henry's briefcase were found. Watch they hysterical scenarios that unfold.

Groove to some indie tunes: Counter Culture's Indie March kicks off this weekend, with Hoirong, a four-piece rock band, Parvaaz, Space Behind The Yellow Room and All The Fat Children. The festival was launched in 2013 with a curated list of independent Indian musicians and held over five weekends, to create a larger audience for live performances and showcase alternative genres of independent music.
