Low Naphtha Allocation Hits Rpg Power Project

RPGs $ 750 million Dholpur power project in Rajasthan has come to a standstill despite receiving naphtha allocation from the petroleum ministry. The allocation is far too low to keep the project viable.

Dholpur has got an allocation for a capacity of 635 mw, while the company had planned to set up a 788 mw plant. The annual allocation of 7.93 lakh tonnes of naptha is based on 80 per cent plant load factor (PLF), for a capacity of 635 mw.

RPG had initially planned to set up a 788 mw plant, for which the Rajasthan government had recommended an allocation based on a PLF of 80 per cent
