Cash counters once again registered steady gains on the Calcutta Stock Exchange (CSE) with retail investor interest driving trading activity. Pivotals, except for Telco which witnessed activity, were stagnant.

The CSE-40 Index gained by 30.12 points to close at 2,316.47 points against 2,286.35 points previously. The index touched a high of 2,316.92 points and a low of 2,287.51 points during intra-day.

Himachal Futuristics touched a high of Rs 180.10 and a low of Rs 169 before closing at Rs 180. Global Telesystems closed at Rs 377.90.
