US President Bill Clinton on Wednesday made a very strong pitch for the inclusion of labour and environment standards in the agenda of the World Trade Organisation.
He also emphasised the need to involve civil society in the WTO set up. And, then went on to endorse the principles on which the NGOs have been agitating over the last few days, even while he condemned the violence.
