Nse To Run Its Datawarehouse On Digital Alphaserver System

The order involves upgrading the AlphaServer 8200 system with the highest performance 625 MHz Alpha processors, state-of-the-art Digital

StorageWorks Enterprise Storage Array subsystem with nearly 500 GB of disks and Digital StorageWorks tape Library based on DLT technology. NSE eventually is likely to have nearly 1 terabyte of storage on-line. The Alpha technology would provide a performance boost by deploying 64-bit Oracle VML (Very Large Memory) technology which is available only on Digitals 64-bit environment.

NSE has decided in favour of Alpha over other competing technologies, after an extensive techno-commercial evaluation. The selected hardware is readily compatible to the datawarehousing tools selected for the project and has been offered at a competitive price.

National Stock Exchange is one of the largest customers for Digital India and uses more than six powerful enterprise-class Digital Alphaserver systems with Digital UNIX, alongwith s host of other Alphaservers. NSE currently uses its systems for doing country-wide stock trade settlement.
