Orchid To Raise Rs 175 Cr Via Private Placement

Total tax revenue in the first half of the current fiscal increased by 13.34 per cent, buoyed by a 16.72 per cent increase in indirect taxes.

Total tax revenue in the first half of the year was Rs 68,986.81 crore comared with Rs 60,869.17 crore during the first half of the last fiscal. Indirect taxes during the period increased to Rs 50,468.37 crore compared to Rs 43,237.34 crore.

Direct taxes during the period went up to Rs 18,518.44 crore as against Rs 17,631.83 crore which was a mere 5.03 per cent increase.

The poor growth in direct tax collection was on account of tardy corporate taxes collections, which fell to Rs 9,506.36 crore from Rs 9,816 crore during the period.
