Power Generation Up 10.7% In Jan

Power generation has increased by 10.7 per cent in the current month over the same period last year. Generation over the last two months has shown an uptrend with Januarys figures up 7.7 per cent. A breakup of generation shows that thermal generation increased by 8.8 per cent over the previous year, which is a 3.1 per cent jump from January, while hydel and nuclear generation have retained a steady growth of 23 per cent and 9.1 per cent respectively.
