This refers to the article "I, me, myself" by Virendra Kapoor (June 28) in the context of Laloo Yadav's adamancy to stick to his office despite being charge-sheeted in the fodder scam. In the 50th year of Independence, when the country should have been rejoicing over the progress made in various fields and occupying a top position among the comity of nations, we are sinking into the depth of corruption.
I fail to understand that when the (mis)use of the Article 356 is made to unseat or dismiss any state government even on the flimsiest of grounds, why is the same not being done in Bihar, where the government itself is indulging in lawlessness.
As regards the gentlemen-politician, I K Gujral, his plight is really pathetic. He knows fully well what is the right thing to do in the present crisis hovering over the UF, but is afraid to do so for fear of losing his seat. He knows that he owes his seat in the Rajya Sabha to Mr Yadav and cannot afford to displease him..
