Sales at the weekly Indian Coffee Trade Association (Icta) auction here yesterday nosedived even as low terminals dominated the scenario on the London and New York exchanges.
Exporters were willing to buy at low levels,
while sellers stuck on to last week's benchmark, which, in any case, was Rs 3-5 lower than the previous ones.

Robustas, which have been selling at Rs 2-3 lower at every auction through this month, remained subdued.
Washed arabicas were quoted Rs 2-3 lower and cherries were discounted by Rs 1-2.
International markets, meanwhile, remained dull but roaster support at the lows kept the prices from hitting rock bottom.
Mexican deliveries and rising green coffee stocks kept up the pressure on prices.
Back home, Ramesh, Allana and Madhu Jayanti were active exporters yesterday.
At the Icta auction, 122.825 tonne sold out of a total offer of 685.098 tonne, with 82 per cent being withdrawn from sale.
In arabica parchment, 12.6 tonne of PB was sold at Rs 75. 60 / kg (Rs 79.48), 30.35 tonne of A sold at Rs 82.2/kg (Rs 84.60), 14.8 tonne of B went for Rs 75.82 / kg (Rs 78.50), 25.59 tonne of C sold at Rs 66.90/kg (Rs 69.06) 76), 3.8 tonne of BBB sold at Rs 45.40 /kg (Rs 44.40).
Arabica Cherry sold minimal quantities with a total of 16.69 tonne going at competitive
rates compared with last week's figures.
Cherry AB did relatively better among the four grades selling about 11 tonne at Re 1 higher than last week.
Robusta parchment was completely avoided at yesterday's sale with the entire 29 tonne offer being withdrawn.
Robusta Cherry AB sold 20.9 tonne in all, with C doing the best volume of 8 tonne, a good Rs 3 lower than last week's rate of Rs 38.24/kg.
