Summoned as a co-accused in the Lakhubhai Pathak cheating case by special judge justice Ajit Bharihoke, Rao will come to the court accompanied by his SPG guards.
This is the first time that a former Prime Minister under `Z' plus security cover will appear in the court.
A team of senior police officers, including commissioner Nikhil Kumar, SPG director Shyamal Dutta, additional commissioner of police (north) B K Gupta and DCP (north) P K Srivastava, visited the court premises and discussed the security aspect with Justice Bharihoke.
