Even before the ball left the bowler's hand, Virender Sehwag was well aware of where it should be dispatched. The Delhi-born southpaw held no regard for any bowler and on his day even his greatest rivals on the other end of the 22-yard pitch feared him. It was a treat to watch him every time he took guard. The sight of Sehwag bludgeoning the ball for a six, en-route to the first triple century by any Indian in Tests, against arch rivals Pakistan, will always be in our memories. He was one of the most gifted openers the world has seen, pairing temparemant with timing.
