While most software firms in the country are busy chasing lucrative overseas software pie in project works, a little known Pune-based software company -- Kale Consultants -- plans to continue its focus on its own airlines, banking and hospital management software products development.
"The entire thrust of software industry in India is towards body-shopping by taking up overseas projects, whereas we focus on products and their vertical development. We plan to continue doing so," Avinash Kadam, chief operating officer, Kale Consultants, said.
The company's thrust is to convert ideas into software packages which any normal user will require and has wide application. Its hottest selling software product is Praxis for the aviation industry, which enables the airlines to conduct smooth revenue accounting.

Currently, Praxis contributes towards almost one-third of the total Rs 22 crore revenue earnings of the company. Kale Consultants' client list consists of over 15 airlines worldwide, including Air India, Jet Airways, Air New Zealand, and Air Zimbabwe.
Kale Consultants has entered into a strategic marketing alliance with Speed Wing, an arm of British Airways and Emirates Airlines to sell the Praxis software.
The company is now working on another product called 'Fare Audit' for the aviation industry. This product will be able to handle the complex international rules and regulations on ticket booking and will make sure that the agents have issued a proper ticket for the correct air fare price.
Fare Audit will enable its users to detect any overcharging by travel agents or undercutting too.
In the Banking sector too, the company has made its mark. Its banking product 'Shrink Wrapped' can be implemented in a bank without any customisation. On the launch pad is a new banking product, 'Anywhere Banking', which will enable multiple branches of a bank to get connected.
For healthcare, the firm has 'In-Care' product for hospital management. Now the company plans to come out with a new healthcare software product called 'Chiraya', which is a web-based hospital management product.
