LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
The Election Commission has been taking useful decisions in order to instil some degree of credibility in our election system. Here is another suggestion for its consideration.
The election manifestos must be authenticated by all members of the issuing partys governing body, and each member subscribing to it should be accountable for its implementation in case of the party being voted to power in the same manner as directors of a company are in respect of the statements made in the prospectus of a public issue of shares.

Parties which do not get voted to power should be bound by their manifestos in their conduct and voting in Parliament.
This measure will expunge frivolity out of the manifestos and make them products of application of mind and good faith, as such presentations should be.
