Groundnut oil ruled easy on subdued demand coupled with modest arrivals from the producing centres. Other industrial oils ruled easy-to-steady at the wholesale oils and oilseeds market, Turbhe, Navi Mumbai yesterday.
Groundnut oil eased by Re 1 at Rs 45 per 10 kg on subdued industrial as well consumer demand. Arrivals remained modest from the producing centres at around 85/90 tonne a day.
In other oils, kardi oil and mowra oil declined by Rs 3 and Rs 5 to Rs 325 and Rs 230 per 10 kg on reduced industrial demand coupled with better inflows.

Neem oil and copra oil white gained Rs 5 and Rs 20 to Rs 155 and Rs 560 per 10 kg. respectively. Imported palmolein firmed up further by Re 1 at Rs 269 per 10 kg
In futures section, December contract opened Re 1 up at Rs 1178.50 and firmed up to Rs 1188.50 a quintal. It declined to Rs 1178.50 before closing to Rs 1188.50. March 98 contract opened Re 1 up at Rs 1133 a quintal and improved to Rs 1135. It declined to Rs 1133 before closing at Rs 1135 on the speculative movements.
In oilseeds, castorseeds Madras and Maharashtra qualities firmed up further by Rs 5 each to Rs 1205 and Rs 1199 a quintal respectively on improved industrial offtake. Kardi seeds improved by Rs 15 at Rs 1080 a quintal
Sugar: Sugar continued to rule weak at the wholesale sugar market at Turbhe, Navi Mumbai yesterday. Sugar S-30 grade declined further to Rs 1475/1514 from the previous level of Rs 1485/1516 a quintal. Sugar M-30 eased further to Rs 1491/1546 against the previous level of Rs 1506/1551 a quintal Ssugar for the check post deliveries were quoted low at Rs 1457/1470 a quintal for S-30 grade and Rs 1477/1492 for the M-30 grade.
Non-ferrous metals: A mixed trend was noticed in the local non-ferrous market yesterday
In the scraps section, all the metals ruled overall steady and were nominally quoted as under : copper heavy scraps Rs 114, copper utensils Rs 103, brass utensils Rs 87, brass sheetcuttings Rs 95 and aluminium utensils Rs 62.50 a kg on narrow movements.
In virgin section, all the metals ruled overall steady and were nominally quoted as under : copper wirebar Rs 127, aluminium ingots Rs 82.50, zinc slabs Rs 76, lead ingots Rs 41, tin slabs Rs 310 and nickel cathodes Rs 312 per kg. respectively
Bullion: A divergent trend was noticed in bullion prices in the local bullion market yesterday.
In white metals, silver both .999 and .916 looked up by Rs 5 each to Rs 6805 and Rs 6705 a kg, respectively, on firm overseas advices and better consumer demand. In yellow metals, both standard gold and 22-carat gold declined by Rs 25 each to Rs 4210 and Rs 3895 per 10 gram, respectively, on weaker advices coupled with subdued demand. The arrivals remained modest. Gold biscuit prices also weakened by Rs 300 at Rs 49,200 per piece of gold bar of 10 tolas on improved offerings.
