He said the doctors had advised him against travelling due to a heart condition. He wants Air India to ensure that a doctor accompanies him on the flight and a range of medical facilities are made available.
Sukh Ram's volte-face on Monday afternoon came after a Delhi court postponed the hearing on his bail application till today. Earlier, Sukh Ram had informed the Indian High Commission that he would arrive back home on Air India flight 112 today morning.
Agencies add: The fate of Sukh Ram's anticipatory bail application will be known today as the designated CBI court yesterday reserved its order after his counsel challenged the court's jurisdiction to hear the plea.
Meanwhile, the CBI interrogated Sukh Ram's son-in-law Col R K Sharma yesterday. Question-ing of Sukh Ram's son Anil Kumar Sharma also continued.
