Taiwan is expected to take part in a multi-billion dollar investment with Canadas Bombardier Inc to develop nine-seater new mid-business jets, the United Daily said yesterday. Taiwans Aerospace Industrial Development Corporation will raise $82.7 million for a 10 per cent stake in the project. Of this, $41.3 million would come from the ministry, $24.8 million from syndicated bank loans and $16.54 million from local enterprises. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries will be responsible for wing production, while Aerospace Industrial will make the mid-or rear section of the plane body, and Bombardier the design, testing and systems coordination.
