The twin obejctive of the MPFI fed engine is to meet the emission norms (India 2000) and hence stay in the game for petrol car segment and to offer a performance oriented model in the other diesel dominated Indica line-up. Unveiling the new models of Indica at its manufacturing facility near Pune on Wednesday, Rajiv Dube, said that the company will continue to produce its existing petrol carburetor car version of Indica until the market demand remains for it.
Indica 2000 has more safety features, better styling of the interiors with a sporty look and a brighter upholstery. "Our focus on the new India 2000 has been to give it more acceleration, sportiness and driving experience. Its not a launch of a new engine for us, but it is the launch of a new car in terms of performance and driving," Dube said.
