The Chennai Angels (TCA) has announced an investment in Hyderabad-based Octathorpe Web-Consultants Pvt. Ltd., the promoter of the cricket management game Hitwicket.
Hitwicket is already generating funds through app purchases and the product is available across 77 countries.
"The possibility to use the game of cricket, with business and entrepreneurial skills, makes this a worthy tool that enables players to showcase their managerial skills. Knowledge of cricket and ability to do business with that knowledge can make Hitwicket an ideal business management tool," said R Narayanan who led the investment from The Chennai Angels.
Octathorpe Web-Consultants Pvt. Ltd., is a Hyderabad based startup founded by alumni of VIT University. The company started-off a web services company and hit upon the idea of a cricket management game considering the huge popularity of IPL.
