TiE-ISB Connect 2005, a forum connecting aspiring entrepreneurs to venture capitalists (VCs) and successful entrepreneurs, has received 56 business plans from budding entrepreneurs across the country with around 45 per cent being from Hyderabad. |
The event, being jointly organised by The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) and the Indian School of Business (ISB), will be made into an annual event from this year onwards. |
To be held on July 28 this year, the event will see 14 plans (looking at a funding of Rs 200 crore) being shortlisted for one-on-one interviews with venture capitalists. Besides, 30 entrepreneurs will also be participating in 'Elevator Pitch' wherein they will be allowed to sell their business plans to the panel within three minutes. |
TiE-ISB Connect will be organised next year on September 21-22 wherein the first day will be reserved for information technology and the second for biotechnology, pharma and life sciences. This year, the event's focus is on technology-enabled businesses. |
J A Chowdary, president, TiE Hyderabad, said that they met Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy recently. "He evinced keen interest in arranging infrastructure for incubation purposes with options for seed funding for budding entrepreneurs in the state," he added. |
