The Wholesale Debt Segment at the National Stock Exchange (NSE) witnessed moderate trading activity as dealers perceived tight liquidity in the system.
The day saw 48 trades and a trading volume of Rs 376.82 crore, which included Rs 40 crore in treasury bill segment, Rs 15 crore in commercial paper segment and Rs 15 crore in the repo segment.

The 11.55 per cent government loan maturing on 2001 was in demand, reporting 14 trades and a trade volume of Rs 85 crore. The paper was traded at the weighted average yield of 11.44 per cent, at the low of Rs 100.14, touched a high of Rs 100.23 before closing at Rs 100.18.
The same paper saw a repo trade worth Rs 15 crore for a term of 11 days and at a rate of 7.75 per cent.
The 11.78 per cent government loan maturing on 2003 saw six trades and was traded for Rs 70 crore at the weighted average yield of 11.76 per cent.
The 12.30 per cent government loan maturing on 1998 saw bulk trade for Rs 30 crore at yield of 8.96 per cent and at the price of Rs 100.87.
The zero per cent government loan maturing on 2000 was traded for Rs 50 crore at the weighted average yield of 10.55 per cent.
