Total Trades Touch Rs 209.12 Crore

NSE REPORT

The wholesale debt market (WDM) at the National Stock Exchange (NSE) clocked a trading volume of Rs 209.12 crore. While the treasury bills segment contributed to a volume of Rs 55 crore, a repo deal worth Rs 15 crore was also concluded yesterday.The market was quite steady with not much of price movement, said a broker.

The government securities, maturing at the shorter and medium end, was in good demand. They contributed to nearly half the volume of the day. The 12 per cent government loan, maturing in 1999, was traded for Rs 40 crore at the weighted average yield of 11.74 per cent. The paper was traded in the range of Rs 100.15 and Rs 100.20.The 13.70 per cent government loan, maturing in 1999, was traded for Rs 60 crore at the weighted average yield of 11.71 per cent.

 

The paper was traded in the range of Rs 102.08 and Rs 102.20. A repo was concluded for 13.85 per cent gilt maturing in 2000 for a term of 12 days at the rate of 10.35 per cent.In odd lot segment, the 14 per cent gilt, maturing in 2005, reported four trades contributing to a volume of Rs 0.15 crore.
