Traded Volume At Rs 141.54 Crore

The wholesale debt market (WDM) at National Stock Exchange (NSE) clocked a Rs 141.54 crore volume of which the treasury bills segment contributed Rs 69 crore.

Two repo deals aggregating Rs 30 crore were concluded for a term of 9-10 days.

The corporate debenture segment contributed Rs 32.32 lakh to the total traded volume.

It has been a dull day, said a dealer at the National Stock Exchange. Call money rates remained tight and consequently few deals took place, he added. The yield on the treasury bill maturing in April 1998 rose by nearly two per cent. The 364-day treasury bill maturing on April 10, 1998 was in demand and was traded for a weighted average yield of 15.12 per cent against the previous days 13.39 per cent.

 

The 364-day treasury bill maturing on April 24, 1998 was traded at a yield of 15.15 per cent against the previous days 13.65 per cent.

A repo deal was concluded for 12.5 per cent government loan maturing in 2004 for a term of nine days at a rate of 15 per cent, while the same paper was traded at the weighted yield of 12.24 per cent.
