NSE REPORT
The wholesale debt market at the National Stock Exchange (NSE) witnessed a trading volume of Rs 268.90 crore of which the treasury bills segment accounted for trades worth Rs 55 crore.
There were very few deals done at the NSE screen today, said a NSE broker. However, the corporate debenture segment witnessed high trading activity, he added.

There were 37 deals done for the government securities market worth Rs 268.90 crore while 335 trades were done at the corporate debenture segment worth Rs 11.37 crore. In the government securities segment, the 13.50 per cent government loan maturing in 2007 showed trading volume of Rs 45 crore. The paper was traded at the weighted yield of 10.83 per cent, at the low of Rs 112.92 and high of 112.94 for the day.
The 10.85 per cent government loan maturing in 2001 too was in demand accounting for trade worth Rs 25 crore. The paper was traded at the weighted yield of 9.90 per cent, at the low of Rs 102.80 and closed at the high of Rs 102.87 for the day.
The 91 days treasury bills maturing in January 12, 98 was traded for Rs 20 crore at the weighted yield of 6.4 per cent.
In the corporate debenture segment 14 per cent Reliance 2000 and the zero per cent Reliance Petro 2001 was in demand.
