Traded Volume At Rs 282.28 Crore

NSE REPORT

The wholesale debt market at the National Stock Exchange (NSE) witnessed trades worth Rs 282.28 crore yesterday.

There were no trades in the corporate debentures segment during the day.

There was buying interest for medium-term paper during the day, said NSE broker.

Besides, with the call money ruling at lower levels there was buying interest for the treasury bills as well.

There were trades worth Rs 40 crore in the treasury bills segment. The 364-day treasury bill maturing in April 10, 1998, was traded for Rs 30 crore at a weighted yield of 8.4 per cent.

The 12.59 per cent government loan maturing in 2004 was in demand, showing a volume of Rs 45 crore and nine trades during the day. The paper was traded at a weighted yield of 11.46 per cent for a low of Rs 105.05 and a high of Rs 105.15 for the day.

 

The 10.85 per cent government loan maturing in 2001 was traded for Rs 35 crore at a weighted yield of 10.85 per cent.

The 12.5 per cent gilt maturing in 2004 was traded for Rs 20 crore at a weighted yield of 11.47 per cent. The 12.14 per cent government paper maturing in 2000 was traded for Rs 25 crore at a weighted yield of 10.49 per cent.
