The wholesale debt market (WDM) at the National Stock Exchange witnessed active trading, recording a volume of Rs 531.12 crore of which the treasury bills contributed a volume of Rs 111 crore.
Buying interest was seen in government securities which lead to fall in yields of securities by 5 to 10 basis points.

Corporate debentures witnessed 339 trades with a trading volume of Rs 41.79 lakh.
The 10.85 per cent government loan maturing in 2001 was in demand and was traded for Rs 65 crore at the weighted average yield of 10.58 per cent against previous days yield of 10.63 per cent.
The paper was traded for a low of Rs 100.70 and a high of Rs 100.80.
The 12.59 per cent government loan maturing in 2004 was traded for Rs 30 crore at the weighted average yield of 10.98 per cent against Rs 11.02 per cent in the previous day. The paper saw a low of Rs 107.20 and a high of Rs 107.40.
The 11 per cent government loan maturing in 2002 was traded for Rs 60 crore at the weighted average yield of 10.76 per cent (10.80 per cent).
The paper was traded for a low of Rs 100.65 and closed at a high of Rs 100.85 for the day.
