Traded Volume At Rs 622.40 Crore

The wholesale debt market at the National Stock Exchange witnessed increased activity with trades worth Rs 622.40 crore transacted yesterday. Treasury bills accounted for trades worth Rs 13 crore while the corporate debenture segment accounted for trades worth Rs 24.50 crore.

Many traders have started taking position in the market since inflow of funds is expected with the 0.25 per cent cut in cash reserve ratio that will take place next week, said a dealer.

The 14 per cent government loan maturing in 2006 was traded for Rs 90 crore at the weighted yield of 10.93 per cent. The 11.50 per cent government loan maturing in 2006 was traded for Rs 60 crore at the weighted yield of 10.76 per cent. The paper was traded for a low of Rs 104 and closed at a high of Rs 104.10 for the day.

 

The 12.59 per cent government loan maturing in 2004 was traded for Rs 50 crore at the weighted yield of 10.67 per cent. The paper was traded for a low of Rs 108.76 and closed at a high of 108.90.

The 12.5 per cent government loan maturing in 2004 was traded for Rs 55 crore at a weighted yield of 10.60 per cent.
