Traded Volume Dips To Rs 548.96 Crore

The wholesale debt market segment (WDM) at the National Stock Exchange (NSE) saw lower volumes with 74 transactions worth Rs 548.96 crore being registered compared with Rs 867.73 crore on Tuesday. Bond prices fell by 5 to 20 paise across maturities.

The government treasury bills segment saw volumes trades worth Rs 52 crore for near maturities. There was active demand for the 11.55 per cent government loan maturing in 2001 which saw volumes of Rs 170 crore, with 28 trades at a weighted average yield of 11.42 per cent. The paper was traded for a low of Rs 100.18, a high of Rs 100.29, and closed at Rs 100.21.

 

The newly issued 11.68 per cent government loan maturing on 2002 saw four trades for Rs 35 crore at a weighted average yield of 11.60 per cent, at a low of Rs 100.20 and high of Rs 100.25. with the close at Rs 100.20.

The government's 6.0 per cent capital indexed bond saw five trades at Rs 28 crore at a weighted yield of 14.23 percent. The high was Rs 100.75, low was Rs 100.55 and close was Rs 100.60. Corporate debentures were traded for Rs 8.85 lakhs against Rs 6,606.96 lakhs on Tuesday.
