Traded Volumes Touch Rs 275.13 Crore

NSE REPORT

The wholesale debt market segment of National Stock Exchange (NSE) witnessed trades worth Rs 275.13 crore yesterday.

The most actively traded security during the day was the newly issued 13.05 per cent state government loan which traded for Rs 97 crore at 13.06 per cent.

The 13.70 per cent central government issue maturing 1999 which changed hands for Rs 35 crore at 12.23 per cent and the 0 per cent central government bond maturing in 2000 for Rs 30 crore at 11.68 per cent.

There was buying support with the yields witnessing drop of more than 10 basis points and this trend is likely to continue in the coming days felt a dealer.

 

The inter-bank call rates opened in the range of 10 per cent and 10.25 per cent with most of the deals being done at this level .

Later in the day the rates came down to close at nine per cent

The promissory note issued by KRCL maturing in August 1997 was exchanged for Rs five crore atnine per cent

Corporate debentures were traded for Rs 94.13 lakh of which the 0 per cent Reliance Petroleum debenture maturing in 2001 was traded for Rs 71 lakh at yields of 19.64 per cent.
