The prices of short-term securities, such as the 13.50-per cent central government security maturing in 1997 and the 13.50 per cent gilt maturing in 1998 increased as foreign banks continued to pick them up.
The price of the 13.50-per cent central government security went up to Rs 100.85 from Rs 100.81 on Tuesday as banks went on a hectic buying spree.
The 13.50-per cent gilt maturing in 1998 was also traded at an higher price of Rs 101.83.
