The wholesale debt market segment of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) witnessed trades worth Rs 249.32 crore yesterday.
The most actively traded security during the day was the 13.50 per cent 1997 government loan which traded for Rs 80 crore at 8.52 per cent .

Among the other securities in the limelight were the 13.80 per cent government loan maturing in 2002 which traded for Rs 25 crore at 12.22 per cent and the recently issued 13.05 per cent central government loan which traded for Rs 15 crore at 12.79 per cent. Dealers showed more interest in medium and short-term papers, said a dealer with a foreign bank.The inter-bank call rates were quoted higher as against last week and ruled in the range of 0.25-0.75 per cent .
The 364-day treasury bills, maturing in April 1998, traded for Rs 5 crore at 8.9 per cent .
The certificate of deposit issued by the State Bank of Hyderabad for Rs 50 crore maturing in May 1997 was traded at 6.50 per cent while the commercial paper issued by Bombay Dyeing, maturing in June 1997, was traded for Rs 5 crore at 7.25 per cent.
Corporate debentures were traded for Rs 20.04 lakhs of which IDBI Deep Discount Bond maturing in 2021 was traded for Rs 5.7 lakhs.
