Jet Airways is introducing a daily direct flight between Delhi and Thiruvananthapuram from today.

The airline will fly a next generation Boeing 737-700 aircraft with 120 seats, while IA operates an A 320 with 145 seats in the sector.

The flight will leave Delhi at 8.00 am and reach Thiruvananthapuram four-and-a-half hours later after a 40-minute stopover in Mumbai.

The intention is to take away some of the load carried by IA on this route. Jet was losing passengers flying to Thiruvananthapuram. These passengers were finding the IA flight more convenient as they could book their luggage straight to their destination.

Jet has clarified that the passengers can remain on board in Mumbai and baggage could be booked directly.
