Enron Corporation, the US energy major, is planning to set up an all-India liquefied natural gas (LNG) grid.

In the first phase of its gas grid project, Enron proposes to set up a pipeline over 800 km on the western coast of the country, north and south of its 5 million tonne LNG terminal at Dabhol. The company sees incremental LNG demand along the pipeline, Enron sources said.

The company proposes to invest about Rs 2,600-Rs 3,600 crore ($600-$800 million) in the first phase of its pipeline project, sources said.
