Volume Declines To Rs 134.07 Crore

The wholesale debt market at the National Stock Exchange (NSE) witnessed dull trading yesterday, with only 27 trades being reported for the government securities segment accounting for a volume of Rs 134.07 crore.

The treasury bills segment showed volume of Rs 44 crore.

The corporate debenture segment witnessed active trading clocking a trade volume of Rs 9.49 crore.

It was thin market with net sellers leading to fall in the prices of the securities, said a NSE broker.

The highest trade was done for the 10.85 per cent government securities maturing in 2001 amounting to Rs 20 crore.

 

The paper was traded at the weighted yield of 10.50 per cent, at the high of Rs 101 and closed at a low of Rs 100.95.

The 364-day treasury bill maturing on December 18, 1998 was traded for 19 crore at the weighted average yield of 8.6 per cent.

The provident fund of IRFC offering 9 per cent coupon was traded for Rs 2 crore at the weighted average yield of 9.14 per cent.

In the corporate debentures segment, 14 per cent Reliance Industries bond was traded for Rs 8.66 crore at the weighted yield of 12.89 per cent.
