Deepak Punia defeated Pakistan’s Mohammad Inam in the Men’s 86 kg Freestyle competition in the Wrestling event of the Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022. He won by a scoreline of 3-0 as he did not let the Pakistani wrestler get a grip on him.

Commonwealth Games 2022 Day 8 LIVE: Sakshi does a Ravi Dahiya, wins gold by pinfall

 

One of the best finals you will ever see in Commonwealth Games 2022. Sakshi Malik did what Ravi Dahiya had done in the Olympics. After trailing 0-4, Sakshi first levelled up to 4-4 and then by pin-fall won the gold. This is first Commonwealth Games medal for Sakshi, who is already an Olympouc bronze medalist from Rio 2016.

But it was not like that whatsoever and he showed it as he took three points after that and won the men’s freestyle 65 kg gold, the first one in wrestling for India in this games. He won with a scoreline of 9-2
