Commonwealth Games 2022 Day 9 LIVE: Bronze for Rohit Tokas in boxing, loses a closely contested semi-final

 

India’s Rohit Tokas fought brilliantly and after being almost out and about in the first round came back strong, but was not ankle to change the decision of one judge in his favour and eventually lost the Men’s (63.5-67) Kg Boxing semi-final to Zimba of Zambia 2:3 on a split decision, he would have to settle with bronze. 

 

He is now the third Indian boxer to win bronze while three Indians have qualified for the the final and Sagar is yet another Indian boxer who will play in the semi-final tonight

The Indian boxer Rohit Tokas fought back into the second round and seems to have impressed the judges. In the first round., tow judges had scored in his favour, but in the second round, he managed to impress three judges and the score is tied at 2:2 with one judge marking Rohit and his opponent the same points

The Indian team was not at its best at all as it got a 2-0 lead at the half time, but it also coned twice, and the last goal was scored against it with just a minute to go for full time. If India keep conceding like that, it would eventually cause problems for them in the gold medal match which will most probably be against Australia who will play England in the semi-final later tonight.

With the South African team playing without the goalkeeper, the Indian team made great use of it and got a penalty corner. India’s new PC specialist Jugrj Singh made no mistake and got one goal to lead the game 3-1 with two minutes to go in the semi-final match
