Rishabh Pant stole the show with his brilliant century in which he scored 146 in just 111 balls to guide India to 338-7 at the end of Day 1 at Edgbaston. Along with Pant, Ravindra Jadeja also played a brilliant knock and is unbeaten at 83 off 163 balls, aiming to get a hundred. India were reduced to 98-5 at one stage before the Pant-Jadeja duo added 222 for the sixth wicket to provide stability to the innings. 

 

For England, James Anderson has picked three wickets while Matty Potts has had two so far. Ben Stokes and Joe Root have got a wicket each too, while Stuart Broad and Jack Leach remained wicketless.
