PITCH REPORT
"There's been a bit of rain in the morning. But the sun is out right now and the pitch is bright and hard. A lot greener than expected in a one-day game. This is a pitch with a lot of grass, so there will be early seam movement." - reckons Sourav Ganguly,

Easy win for England in WC final, predicts Pietersen
As England prepare to take on New Zealand in the finals of the World Cup 2019 on Sunday, former batsman Kevin Pietersen has predicted the result of the summit clash.
According to Pietersen, Eoin Morgan's men will find it rather easy against the Black Caps to win their first World Cup trophy at Lord's.
"You've made it to the home of cricket, herringboneandsui...! I'm thinking an easy win for England," tweeted Pietersen before the start of Sunday's game.
Earlier, cricketer-turned commentator Sanjay Manjrekar also predicted England's win in the finals. "If you believe in destiny, then its New Zealand; want to stick to logic -- Then it's England," tweeted Manjrekar.
England qualified for the finals after defeating five-time champions Australia while New Zealand made it to the final too after knocking out India in the semis.
New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson also believes that England are the favourites to lift the coveted trophy.
"A lot of people say that on a number of occasions, which is great, and I think England rightly deserve to be favourites," Williamson said at the pre-match presser.

Key bowler for England
Jofra Archer
Archer, who did not find a spot in the preliminary squad, proved that his inclusion in the final squad was a wise decision as he took three wickets in the opening World Cup match against South Africa. In England's World Cup warm-up match against Afghanistan, Archer got hold of three batsmen and helped his side restrict the opponents on just 160 runs. The bowler has been seen rushing the batsmen in the tournament and so far he has scalped 19 wickets in the World Cup, and he is on the third position in the leading wicket-takers list in the ongoing World Cup.

Key batsman for New Zealand
Kane Williamson
New Zealand skipper Williamson has been a guiding force for his team. He has scored 548 runs in the ongoing World Cup. He held the innings for the Kiwis in the semi-final against India. With each passing game, Williamson's performance has gotten better. He has scored two centuries in the tournament so far and has also provided his off-spin services to the team when in need. Under his leadership, the Kiwis won five matches from nine fixtures in the group stage.

Key batsman for England
Jason Roy
Roy, the right-handed free-flowing batsman of England, has been in tremendous form in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup so far. In the team's match against Bangladesh, the player played a knock of 152 runs, enabling his team to post a total of 386 runs on the board. Roy allows the team to get off to a quickfire start at the top and England would hope that the batsman continues his rich vein of form in the tournament. Roy has scored 426 runs in the tournament so far at an average of 71 and a strike rate of 117.03. In the semi-final against Australia, Roy provided the quickfire start, enabling the hosts to make light work of the target.

New Zealand road to final
Semifinal vs India (July 10)
Result: New Zealand won by 18 runs
The worries that arose from the hat-trick of defeats in the group stages were wiped out by what was a clinical performance that helped New Zealand overcome the mighty Indian team in the semifinal.
New Zealand's innings was completed over the course of two days due to rain pushing the game into reserve day. The conditions worked in their favour as India lost K.L. Rahul, Rohit Sharma and captain Virat Kohli within the first three overs. They were eventually reduced to 92/6 in 30 overs before a stunning counter by Ravindra Jadeja brought India right back into the chase. Jadeja and M.S. Dhoni put up 116 runs for the seventh wicket. Boult dismissed Jadeja in the 48th over and Dhoni fell to a brilliant Martin Guptill run out, thus putting an end to India's fightback.

New Zealand road to final
vs England (July 3)
Result: England won by 119 runs
It was a case of bad to worse for New Zealand. After suffering a heavy defeat at the hands of Australia, they were given an even harsher treatment by the hosts. England's top two wickets contributed 194 runs and Eoin Morgan's cameo helped push their total to 305/8. England's five-pronged pace attack, with able assistance from Adil Rashid, blew New Zealand out of the park as the Kiwis were all out for 186.
